Through economies of scale and collective purchasing, member locals of the Canadian Federation of Students can purchase high-quality manufactured products at a lower cost. In addition to reducing cost, students' unions can get t-shirts, laundry bags, bottles, mugs, pens, clipboards, buttons, lanyards and notebooks that are ethically-manufactured and environmentally sustainable.

Since the beginning of the programme, the Federation has had an arrangement with the Single Mothers' Cooperative of El Salvador: a workers' cooperative that ensures that orientation materials purchased through this programme are sweat free and made in ethical conditions. Students can feel positive that their orientation materials are not only made ethically, but are also changing the industry to encourage other T-Shirt providers to offer clothing that is sweat-free and ethically produced.

Students' unions often purchase a variety of materials in bulk to promote their services and campaigns on campus, especially during the first few weeks of the academic year.
